PETALING JAYA: Treasure hunt enthusiasts who feel they are up to the challenge of following clues on movies can sign up for the 22nd Kiwanis Treasure Hunt 2005, themed “Lights... Camera... Action”.
The event will take participants from Kuala Lumpur to the Bukit Merah Laketown Resort in Perak on May 28. Its prizes include four air tickets to Brisbane.
Organised by the Kiwanis Club of Kuala Lumpur to raise funds for the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation–National Centre and other groups, the hunt will also feature other recreational activities and contests.
Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting said many people tend to forget their social responsibilities because of work commitments.

“We should support this treasure hunt because we are also creating public awareness of Down Syndrome in Malaysia,” he said when launching the project at the centre here on Tuesday. Ong also made a personal contribution of RM10,000 to the centre. Also present was the centre's patron Toh Puan Ena Ling.
The main sponsors for the hunt are Malaysia Airlines, Autoliv Hirotako Sdn Bhd, Dunham Bush (M) Bhd, Paramount Property Development Sdn Bhd, Sekolah Sri Kuala Lumpur, Esso Malaysia Bhd and Platinum Victory Sdn Bhd, while the media sponsors are The Star and Sin Chew Daily.
The organisers hope to raise RM300,000 from the event.
